The Division of Obstetric Anesthesia is responsible for obstetric and gynecologic anesthesia and provides dedicated, 24 hour in-house faculty service for obstetrics.
Our faculty members are fellowship-trained and have extensive experience in OB anesthesia, and our mission is to provide excellent and compassionate care to our patients and their unborn babies. We offer the full complement of techniques for labor analgesia and also offer a consult service for patients who require antepartum anesthetic evaluation. Our labor and delivery unit delivers approximately 2,600 infants a year, with a large percentage of high-risk patients. Our trainees receive extensive experience in the care of these interesting and clinically challenging patients. We also have a number of on-going clinical research projects.
